I'm mad at sugar cookies. I hate you, you sugary sugar cookies

My mom told me the butter has to melt for a few hours which feels like forever and once you make the dough you have to wait even more hours even more than before. Sugar cookies are so so annoying.

    Wow, cooking can be annoying! I also hate waiting for the butter to soften. Did you finally make some cookies? Were they delicious after you did all that waiting? Sometimes things are sooo "good" after you have to use a lot of patience. Don't you agree?

    What am I missing here? Why doesn't anyone use a microwave to soften the butter? That's what I do!
